This article explains why and how to do it correctly. The Physiological Reason: The Body Sweats Less at Night The activity of eccrine sweat glands follows a circadian rhythm. Sweat production is significantly reduced during the evening and night hours – even in people with hyperhidrosis. This has two crucial advantages for antiperspirant use: The active ingredient is not immediately washed away. Aluminum chloride needs contact time with the sweat gland pores to penetrate and form the sweat-blocking barrier. If you apply it in the morning and start sweating, the active ingredient is diluted by sweat and pushed out of the gland ducts before it can take effect. Longer, undisturbed exposure time. When the antiperspirant is applied in the evening, the active ingredient has 6–8 hours to penetrate the pores without competition from sweat. The result is a significantly stronger and longer-lasting effect. What Happens Biochemically in the Sweat Gland? This form of zinc is considered especially skin-friendly, well bioavailable, and sebum-regulating, and is known for its antibacterial properties, soothing effect, and support of a healthy skin flora. Additionally, drying ingredients were omitted: denatured alcohol was removed and replaced by glycerin and propylene glycol. This better preserves the natural skin barrier, reduces feelings of tightness, and prevents excessive drying – especially important for sensitive skin, cracked or heavily stressed feet, and for daily long-term use. Targeted plant power The plant component was also modernized: The new formula relies on selected plant extracts instead of strong essential oils. Newly included are Mentha Piperita (peppermint) and Salvia Officinalis (sage). This combination acts naturally antibacterial and odor-inhibiting, provides a refreshing and cooling sensation, and can support sweat regulation as well as soothe the skin.
